The printer for this series of four titles is Mohn Media, based in Germany, one of the country’s pioneers of environmental awareness and actively developing more eco-friendly products and processes. The company has a long history (over 16 years) of environmental work. Headline information includes a measurable reduction of their carbon footprint by 52% since 1994, based on innovative Combined Heat and Power Generation (CHP). They are not only producing power and heat but also, with a part of the heat, refrigeration. This process is been managing with Power-Heat-Colling-combined installation. They are proud to state that they have reduced CO2-emissions by 52% while doubling their production output.

Mohn Media produced their first eco-report identifying areas of impact and improvement in 1991, and were awarded EMAS in 1996 (ECO Management and Audit Scheme) and ISO 14001 in 1997 (ISO 14001 is the international standard for Environmental Management Systems). In 2000 they were ranked first amongst the 150 largest German companies in an eco-report ranking. In 2003 they were certified according FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) accreditation. In 2005 they were awarded at the World’s Fair in Japan, together with their parent company arvato AG, with the Global 100 Eco-Tech Award for the fortification of sustainable forestry. During this time they are proud to claim that they have been actively involved in "the realising, evaluating and improving of a company's environment impact on activities, products and services".
