The team are suddenly beginning to draw at least the ears of a white rabbit out of the hat. The page designs look great; typography has been rethought, the balance between Richard's text and pictures has reached a perfect pitch, and issues like feature spreads, album spreads and tour spreads are beginning to be resolved. There's some tension in the team over how much of a "DK book" this should be, but the general feeling is: let the material determine the style. At this point my design partner, Bryn, feels forced to become totally engaged. The moment this is recognised things seem to get easier. Our biggest problem is the speed at which we can get the text out of Richard H. With a Bill tour looming on the horizon of May, we desperately need it.
