Over to Bill's after Sunday lunch "I shouldn't be long darling, back by seven". My son's in the midst of his AS-levels, my daughter revising for end-of-year exams. I get back at 12.15 am, but Bill has seen all the print outs of the book bar the last two chapters. As always he is polite, indeed enthusiastic, but I am more keen that he ruffles my feathers there and then, and we can put things right, than getting feedback later. Inevitably, my plans go wrong. Two, three days later we get suggestions for replacement pictures.
It's all getting very difficult.
