This week marks the official start of the third trimester, so you're on the home stretch now! Revel in your pregnancy as much as you can, because when you look back you'll find it amazing how quickly it all slipped by. In about three months' time you will meet your new baby.

Your body changes
Week 28 is often the stage at which being pregnant starts to make a difference to your every day life, as you become accustomed to manoeuvring yourself with your increasing bump. |
Other changes
- You may have rib pain caused by the pressure of your baby
- You may get a stitch-like pain down the side of your abdomen as you walk
- You're gaining more weight

Facts about you:
- From now on, you'll see your caregiver (midwife, GP, or obstetrician) every two weeks
- Your breasts may leak colustrum, although some women don't produce this until the baby is born.
- You may be short of breath when you exert yourself due to the upward pressure of the uterus on your lungs and diaphragm.
- You may develop varicose veins, due to the pressure on your legs.
