week 24

Pregnancy is great right now. You're not so big that getting around is difficult, and you've got a lot more energy that you had in the early weeks. And although the birth still seems ages away, at other times you're starting to feel really excited.

Your body changes

This is the stage when people you don't know will start to guess you might be having a baby. Around this time you may have a growth spurt, so your bump becomes more noticeable.

Other changes

  • You probably don't need to urinate as often
  • Your waistline has all but disappeared
  • You may find you perspire more than usual

Facts about you:

  • The fundus (top of the uterus) is above your belly button.
  • When the baby moves you may be able to make out a little foot or leg through the abdominal wall.
  • Your breasts may be feeling very tender due to the hormonal changes in preparation for breastfeeding.
  • Your body is retaining water, putting weight on your thighs and upper body
  • You may feel hot more often
