Why do Internet searches go wrong?
The roots of this problem lie in the two methods used to compile
databases by keyword or by concept. Keyword searches
collect words in a site that are thought to be important.
The problem arises when you enter a words with more than one
meaning. If you enter the word "groom", you will
be offered sites on horse care and weddings. Concept searches
try to work out the meaning of the text rather than just using
the specific words. Problems arise when the software working
out the meaning of an article contain the word "heart"
places it in a medical category when the subject is love.
