Review by: Nicola, 25 November 2009
'I have been reading this book with my 7 year old. The book has bright and attractive illustrations which have caught her imagination. Several times she has picked up the book and looked through the pictures, coming to one which has caught her imagination, then asked me to explain about it.
The book is divided into sections covering the five senses, optical illusions, and the psychology of genius. The sections are underpinned by examples of people in history who have excelled in different areas.
The text is straightforward and easy to understand without “dumbing down” the subject. Many chapters, such as the one about optical illusions are fun and whilst educational. This is certainly a book which is easy to pick up and read in small sections, useful when keeping the attention of children. Highly recommended. '
