'I loved the way this was a book and activity all in one. If your child loves lego, then they will love this book. Its compact, portable size, complete with all the necessary lego pieces to build 16 models, makes it ideal for travelling or as a lovely gift. My son, aged 8, liked the theme of pirates but would have preferred a space theme. Really the possibilites are endless. He found the model instructions easy to follow, and the level of difficulty about right to be stimulating. My son, a lego connosieur, could not find fault with this. Great idea, great packaging, reasonably priced, clear instructions, compact with a nice storage area for the lego pieces. Excellent.'

'My son is 3 years old and has a visiual impairment. Part of his treatment is to wear a patch over one eye for 4 hours a day. Thus his love of pirates! He already loves lego and to help strengthen his weak eye we do close work when wearing his patch. This book and lego set is just perfect for him. With fantastic step by step instructions he is able (with a little help) to make a boat, a beach, a prison - he''s even made his own set of treasure using the blocks. A brilliant gift for any pirate or lego fan.'

'Arrrrrrrrrh! Ahoy there me hearties! Well shiver me timbers, this book is one to treasure. Even the most unenthusiastic crew cannot fail to be swept aboard into their own high seas experience. Aye, it''s ''all hands hoay'' with hours of entertainment. Yo ho ho, this pirate page turner has simple yet striking diagrams to aid your little crew to create new adventures brick-by-brick. Sink me! A hoard of LEGO is even included. And so, ''me bucko'' fair winds! - Goodbye and good luck!

'I think this book is very good because there are lots of fun models to make. The instructions are easy to understand. There is a great compartment to keep the bricks in so that they are always handy. I liked making the admiral''s hideout best of all the models. Its also good that there are enough bricks to make things using your imagination. Verity Wild aged 8'

'My 2 sons aged 7 and 3 really loved playing with the set. The instructions are clear for a 7-8 year old to follow without adult help and there are lots of different permutations to try. The specialised pieces such as the pirate flag and the cartwheels add interest and there are 2 people so you can can play baddy vs goody. '
