'The first thing you notice about this chunky book is the impressive way it has been made to cut the books carbon footprint, save energy etc.I couldn''t wait to look inside. Wow, beautiful illustrations too. Not only that though, it''s a truly practical guide and a must for those gardeners(like me!) who need some no nonsense advice on how to grow organically.The sections are well laid out so you could read the whole chapter or read the snippets of advice if you just want to flick through. Loved the advice on soil improvement and composting (not a load of rubbish) sorry couldn''t resist that cliche! Written in association with ''Garden Organic'' which has 50 years of experience growing organically.'

'Grow Organic is a book that truly can be judged by its cover. It is ''a cleaner, greener book'' containing a basic, no-nonsense guide to growing organically. As a vegetable grower myself I was initially drawn to the chapter on growing vegetables, but it goes beyond this, offering organic growing tips for herbaceous and woody plants, herbs, fruits and growing to attract wildlife. Whilst the specific growing chapters are interesting and very well focused on organic growing methods, the book has much more to offer. There is an especially useful catalogue of organic methods of pest control, as well as a really practical look at the organic gardening basics such as ''how to dig'', ''how to weed'' and ''how to water''. An informative and easy to follow book, this could be used as a basic guide for new gardeners as well as an informative library addition for experienced gardeners looking to employ organic methods. Recommended. '

'Grow Organic is a sumptuous book packed with visual delights and valuable information. For anyone wishing to grow organically this must be the ultimate ''bible''. It explains why it''s so important to the environment (and ultimately to us) to grow organically. It contains masses of practical growing advice plus everything you need to know about the bugs and plant diseases with which all growers have to contend. Grow Organic will both delight and challenge long term growers such as myself and inspire and enthuse complete novices. The only problem for the latter might be just where to start. I''d recommend going straight to the chapter on growing vegetables and then slowly begin to expand your knowledge with this lovely, comprehensive book. '
