DK: Is this "just another diet book"?
Lisa Hark: Absolutely not! Our book is about clearing up the confusion. It is also a comprehensive nutrition guide so you can stay healthy, look and feel better and live longer. Furthermore, our book is the only book that provides an honest and accurate assessment of forty-five of the most popular diets. We tell you which diets are junk sciences and which ones may work for you. There are problems with some diets and we describe them all in the book.
DK: In addition to the no-nonsense reviews of popular diets, what else does the book cover?
LH: It covers nutrition for all age groups, from infants to senior citizens. In our book, you will find hundreds of practical tips on eating well, feeding your family well, and enjoying life to the fullest. We advise our readers how to use food as medicine for high cholesterol, osteoporosis, diabetes, migraine, and many other conditions. We back up every single point with real-life case studies where improved nutrition proved to be the best remedy. There is something for everybody in this book. In fact, we recommend you don't eat another meal until you read Nutrition for Life!
DK: Someone may say that the book sounds like a magic pill.
LH: If you want to live longer and better than your parents, this book is not a magic pill, but a helpful road map. We like to call Nutrition for Life an owner's manual for the human body. It is never too late to start eating healthy, the earlier the better, and our book will help you along the way. All you need to improve your life is here. It is the ultimate resource for a lifetime of good health.
DK: Why do you think your book is especially important nowadays?
LH: People are confused about what to eat. The media often gives conflicting nutritional advice, promotes fad diets, and, even, scares the public. A lot of our patients complain that they feel like their heads are spinning with mixed nutritional messages – eat carbs, don't eat carbs. Although many realise they need to change their diets, they are at a loss where to start and what to do. Nutrition for Life clears up the confusion. We give you the real facts about food, diets, eating, and how good nutrition can improve your health at all stages in life.
