Joan has worked as a personal fitness trainer in New York for over 15 years
As fitness consultant to SHARE - a breast cancer support group - she has worked with breast cancer survivors and through this work she studied how exercise could help fight osteoporosis.
Joan is also Director of the Marymount Manattan College Personal Fitness Trainer Cerification Programme and she lives in the US.
Strength Training for Women, her first book for DK, teaches a variety of workouts that will ensure you can build and maintain good muscle shape for lasting health.
