Former film editor for The Sunday Times, George Perry is a distinguished author and film aficionado

George became a journalist after editing the university newspaper Varsity at Cambridge. He was film editor of the Sunday Times and has written around 30 books, including The Films of Alfred Hitchcock, The Great British Picture Show, the Complete Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard: From Movie to Musical, and The Life of Python.
He has been President of the London Critics’ Circle, is a frequent broadcaster, and has written and presented many radio documentaries on film subjects.
He has served on a number of international film festival juries and is a founder member of the selection panel for the prestigious Carl Forman Award.
His latest book James Dean, is a celebration of the rebel without a cause and commemorates the 50th Anniversary of James Dean’s untimely death.
