Professor of religion, consultant to UNESCO, and presenter of the BBC's World of Faith series

John Bowker was Dean of Trinity College, Cambridge, from 1984 to 1991. He is currently a Fellow of Gresham College, London, and Honorary Canon of Canterbury Cathedral. He is also Adjunct Professor of religion at North Carolina State University.
Professor Bowker's many books include The Meanings of Death (which won the HarperCollins Religious Book Award in 1993), The Oxford Dictionary of World Religions, An Introduction to Jewish Interpretations of Scripture, Jesus and the Pharisees, and World Religions, published by Dorling Kindersley.
